Boxer Bernard Hopkins wants a win over Mayweather

Boxer Bernard Hopkins wants a win over Mayweather

Bernard Hopkins, 48, the oldest prizefighter to win a world championship — and he’s done it twice — wants to break the record again with a victory over Floyd Mayweather, 36, the only opponent out there who could produce a huge purse.
That’s what Hopkins said the other night at Lambs Club to Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, Jason Kidd, Deron Williams and New Jersey’s new US senator, Cory Booker, who was the target of trash talk over his golf game and pingpong skills.
The host of the dinner was Nets co-owner Artie Rabin, who holds monthly stag nights at the restaurant. Artie, an exec with the Hong Kong-based Li & Fung global sourcing firm, is a cousin of Lambs Club co-owner David Rabin.
