‘Rabid dog’ sentenced to 30 years in Central Park rape of 73-year-old
‘You, David Albert Mitchell, for the pain you inflicted on me ... may you rot in hell for all eternity,’ said victim to the stoic convict in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday. The woman was attacked Sept. 12, 2012, by a ‘rabid dog’ as she bird-watched.

David Albert Mitchell showed no remorse as his elderly victim recounted last year’s brutal attack.
The fiend who raped an elderly woman as she was bird watching in Central Park was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison after his victim denounced him as an “evil infestation.”
“You, David Albert Mitchell, for the pain you inflicted on me and by association, my loving family and friends, may you rot in hell for all eternity,” the 73-year-old woman declared in Manhattan Supreme Court.
But it was like talking to a wall. Mitchell, a bearded and tattooed 43-year-old ex-con, gave no sign he was even listening as the tiny, fragile woman revisited the horror she experienced in the daylight hours of Sept. 12, 2012.

“He attacked me in Central Park when I was doing what I love best,” she told the court. “He pounced from behind and smashed me into the ground. I screamed my head off and fought him face-to-face and tried to scratch him and poke his eyes out.”
She said Mitchell seized her “like a rabid dog.”
Mitchell, who was acquitted of raping and murdering an 83-year-old neighbor in West Virginia when he was 18, showed zero remorse on Wednesday.

He had previously pleaded guilty to rape and other counts, sparing the Central Park victim the pain of having to testify and be cross-examined at trial. In so doing, he avoided the possibility of the maximum sentence for rape — 25 years to life in prison.
But Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Bonnie Wittner said the sentence was one of the most stern she has ever handed down in a case for which a plea bargain preceded trial.
“It’s an extremely long sentence, and my intention was to punish him to make sure he will never hurt any other person again,” Wittner told the court.

Mitchell has an evil alter ego named Johnny who is ‘like Satan himself,’ according to his brother.
