The Qatari speeding Sheik filmed drag racing his Ferrari in Los Angeles has fled the United States.
After Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Thani was allegedly filmed speeding through the streets of Los Angeles, he told cops he had diplomatic immunity.
But he has now avoided further investigation by leaving the country before cops could pursue their case, reported the LA Times.
The yellow Ferrari LaFerrari and white Porsche 911 GT3 were filmed running stop signs in Beverly Hills, before the Ferrari came to a halt with smoke streaming from its engine.
After al Thani — a member of Qatar’s ruling family — was named as one of the drivers, he denied he was driving recklessly and told Beverly Hills police that he had diplomatic immunity.
But authorities spoke with the U.S. State Department and the Qatar consulate, and concluded immunity was not applicable in the case.
The city will apply the law equally regardless of “who you are, who you know or where you are from,” said police Chief Dominick Rivetti.
"What I do know is you can't claim diplomatic immunity if you don't have it, and you can't use that as an excuse to jeopardize the public or commit crimes," Rivetti said.

After the video went viral, police failed to find anyone willing to identify the drivers, said Lt. Lincoln Hoshino.
“No one produced any evidence of who was at the wheel of the two cars,” Hoshino said.
“The drivers weren’t visible on the videos or photographs.”
“It was pretty quick…a spur-of-the-moment thing,” said Adam Bornstein, a car enthusiast who posted the video online.
“For the whole car community, it’s definitely a sad representation.”
