LAX evacuated, TSA worker wounded in reported shooting
A gunman with a high-powered rifle and a TSA employee were reported wounded in a wild scene at Los Angeles International Airport early Friday.
Witnesses reported as many as 10 shots were fired in the airport Terminal 3.
There were conflicting reports of whether passengers were also wounded.
The shooting may have begun at a security checkpoint. It sent panicked passengers running for exits.
Local TV stations aired video of police with guns drawn moving though a parking lot at Terminal 3, which was evacuated.
The LAPD described it as a “major tactical incident.”
All flights in an out of LAX were halted after the incident began at around 9:30 a.m.
