A Fairfield man who was busted with bomb-making materials in his home told cops he planned to blow up Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

A Connecticut man who was busted with bomb-making materials in his home told cops he planned to blow up Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.
Joseph C. Callahan, 69, was arrested at his Fairfield home on Oct. 1 after cops found several thousand pounds of explosive chemicals in his garage, including one vat Callahan said contained the explosive material used in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the Fairfield Citizen reported.

Callahan also said he had a stash of the same chemicals used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, as well as a collection of hand-built rockets and detonators.
Callahan told police that one of the bombs was designated to blow up Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who lives in neighboring Weston, Conn.

Callahan's Fairfield home. Police also found more than 250 guns, most of them rifles, at the house, the Fairfield Citizen reported. Callahan owned all of them legally.

Richards lives in Weston, a town over from Callahan. His reps didn't comment.
Callahan was charged Monday with more than 100 counts of illegal possession of explosives, reckless endangerment and manufacture of bombs.
He was freed on bond and is due back in court on Wednesday.
His lawyer, Richard Meehan, told NBC Connecticut that Callahan was distraught over an ongoing divorce and never intended to blow up Richards or anyone else.
