Medical Marijuana Patients To Protest Lack Of Access In New Jersey
Only Fully Functional Dispensary Is In Montclair

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Patients,families and advocates plan to protest what they say is New Jersey’s failure to meaningfully implement the state’s medical marijuana program.
Organizers say patients across the spectrum will speak in Trenton Friday about the troubles they’ve had with the law.
Some are patients who have medical marijuana cards but don’t have access to it. Others are unable to register.
One fully functional dispensary has opened in Montclair since the state’s medical marijuana law was signed in 2010.
A second in Egg Harbor Township received a permit on Thursday to start growing the crop. It’s not expected to open until September.
A state Senate panel has approved a bill to ease restrictions on children having access to medical marijuana.
