Clayton Armstrong Hill is known for claiming that he helped cover up the 1997 shooting death of The Notorious B.I.G. in his autobiography. While he never went to trial for that claim, he was serving a prison sentence for scamming the government of $353,000 in tax returns, and now he’s back outside at-large.
As of May 28, Hill was reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution to have “walked off the grounds” of a medium security facility in southeast Atlanta. He was indicted in 2009 for pleading guilty to filing 121 fraudulent federal income tax returns over four years in Illinois and Georgia. While in prison, he started composing Diary of An Ex-Terrorist, in which he wrote of providing hospitality to the shooter days after the murder of B.I.G., allegedly incited by the Nation of Islam, then disposing of the weapon. U.S. Marshals are still searching for Hill.
