Mayor Bloomberg has offered members of his security detail a deal to stay on as his bodyguards after he leaves office.
Following Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly out the door could be a number of seasoned cops expected to retire and work for Mayor Bloomberg after he leaves office, police sources said.
The cops, currently assigned to the mayor’s security detail, have been told by Hizzoner there are six-figure jobs waiting for them — doing much the same thing — if they want them.
His current detail consists of more than 15 officers, most of them detectives.
Three sources said several members of the detail are expected to retire, then join Bloomberg in his next venture.
“Some of them have been with him 12 years,” one source told the Daily News.

“He’s going to purchase security when he leaves office, so for him it’s a matter of, ‘Do I hire people I know or people I don’t know.’
“His detail is familiar with him and he’s familiar with them.”
Kelly, meanwhile, will likely also have a security detail when he leaves One Police Plaza.
A number of prior commissioners have had varying layers of security after leaving the department, at least in the short term.
“Kelly is different because he’s such a well-known figure and because of the department’s focus on counterterrorism,’’ a second source said. “There have been threats against him, so it makes perfect sense that he would get that detail.”

The Intelligence Division, sources said, is expected to recommend how many officers should bodyguard Kelly, with the commissioner expected to have a say in the matter.
Meanwhile, the commissioner and a number of his top commanders will soon start preparing reports to help the new administration transition into office.
Chief of Department Philip Banks III and ex-NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton are considered the leading candidates.
Incoming Mayor de Blasio has repeatedly said he wants a new police commissioner.
Kelly’s next job remains the subject of much speculation.
Sources said he is not expected to leave the NYPD early and that he has been scheduling events as if it is business as usual.
