Gun found in Massachusetts car crash linked to investigation into former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez
A 38-caliber pistol found after a car crash in Springfield, Mass. has been linked to an investigation involving Aaron Hernandez. The weapon was found in Jailene Diaz-Ramos' trunk after she was taken to hospital.

Police found a .38-caliber pistol in Jailene Diaz-Ramos' car.
A .38-caliber pistol found after a car crash in Springfield, Mass., two months ago is part of an investigation involving Aaron Hernandez, law enforcement sources said Tuesday.
According to CNN, the gun was found in the trunk after the driver, 19-year-old Jailene Diaz-Ramos of Bristol, Conn., was taken to hospital on June 21.

Police are investigating Hernandez's connection to the 2012 murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado, two immigrants from Cape Verde.
According to a police incident report, Diaz-Ramos was not licensed to carry the weapon and was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license and improper storage of a firearm. She has been released on bail after appearing at Springfield District Court.
The weapon's ballistics match marking on bullets at the scene where Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado were shot dead outside a Boston bar last year, according to law enforcement sources.

The police incident report details the charges against Diaz-Ramos.
Authorities are investigating Hernandez, the former NFl star, in relation to the double slaying.
Diaz-Ramos has not been connected directly to Hernandez,, but both are from the same Conn. town, according to police.
