A 7.3% plunge in the Japanese stock market Thursday spilled into the rest of the world, overshadowing moderately better economic data in Europe and a slight decline in jobless claims in the U.S. Bourses in Frankfurt, London, Paris and Milan slumped more than 2%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 47.41 to 15259.76 early in the U.S. session.
