After watching "Nearly" all of Sike Lee's films. I must admit that as a Black Man I will always support him, Spike is a Likeable guy. I also must admit that I was not impressed by nearly half of them, while alo being blown away with emotion like in the final seen in "Bamboozalled"where Spike illustrated centuries of terrible stereotypes in Hollywood that made you feel the pain of the actors forced to endure playing those roles, and the pain of coming to terms with your own private "Minstral show" in todays America as you "Steppinfetchit" to survive.
In my opinion Spike Lee has missed his true calling. "Pornography". The Orgy scene at Plato's retreat in the 1999 fim "The Summer of Sam" was excellent. The uneasy tension of an orgy that was felt by the couple, and the facial expressions demonstrated by the "Vinny" character as he watced his wife enjoying a threesome was priceless. Every married man felt his pain, with that aside. the scene was electric as I strained my eyes to see all of the Woman in the film as the natural sounds of ecstacy were being moaned throughout the room. Spike aso jumped around the room amking it almost impossible to see "Everything" as one ould experience by watching a "Two Live crew" video. "Eerybody dance" by the famed disco group "Chic" was the perfect song to be playing during this scene, throughout film 70's disco, soul, and R&B classics were continuously played at the perfect times. The "The Summer of Sam" by far witht the story Line, authentic actors, and with the comedy of John Jeffries the reporter who was obiously "John Johnson" was the best movie by far of all of Spike Lee's movies.
